Ricoh toner production is moving in stages from Telford in the UK to the ETRIA plant near Dieppe, with the transfer complete in September 2027.
Ricoh is moving the manufacture and bottling of its chemical toners from its plant in Telford, UK, to the ETRIA plant at Martin-Église near Dieppe in Normandy. ETRIA is the joint company of Ricoh, Toshiba Tec and OKI for office printers and toner, and the Dieppe plant becomes its base for toner production for Europe and Asia.
The equipment arrives in stages: around ten automated bottling lines and Ricoh’s moulding presses. Production started in September 2026 and the transfer completes in September 2027. Investment reaches €16 million by the end of 2027, and the plant will hire or redeploy 100 to 130 people.
The plant’s annual toner output rises from about 900 to about 1,100 tonnes this year. A research project aims to cut toner particle size from 6.5 to 6 microns.
